When would movie makers stop messing with successful franchise? Right now all I could look at would be the Disney owned Lucasflim. After many years they decided to make new Star Wars movie. We all know how the movie ends and the story got their own lives in comic books and novels. While George Lucas never really says those stories are canon, all these story parts are included in the expanded universe database in star wars website. I am expecting all these handwork by these authors that made the expanded universe would soon crumbled when Disney unveiled their own version of a continuation of Star Wars. One sign of it would be Chewbacca, who was dead in the books but was to appear in the new show. I would prefer to have it as a reboot or reimagine or start of new generation of heroes rather to put back the old guys. You have to face it, the original heroes just wouldn't be much with the younger audiences in term of age. Their legacy will be preserves in the books, that would be until Disney broke down the wall of the books….
